Wood and Ash

Our ancestors made sodium hydroxide (lye) by percolating rain water through a barrel of wood ash. This inexact science resulted in an extremely harsh form of soap. While we don't plan on returning to those roots, we wanted to honor the humble beginnings of soapmaking, as well as our own as we continue to grow.
